This privacy statement is regarding your usage of this website. For more on how I process and protect any information you share with me from the point of enquiry onwards – including during our time working together, after termination of our counselling work, and if after enquiry or initial consultation you choose not to proceed – please contact me.

I understand how important protecting your privacy is. This policy outlines how information provided by you when using this website is used and processed.

This policy may be amended over time – I recommend reviewing this page occasionally to confirm you agree with procedures taken to protect your information and privacy. Any alterations made to this policy will be added to this page and, if necessary, communicated to you directly through email.

‘Data controller’ is the term used to describe the person/organisation that collects and stores and has responsibility for people’s personal data. In this instance, the data controller is myself, Sara Hemsley.

 

Information I may collect on this site

When contacting me, either through the contact form on this site or by directly contacting me through phone, email or otherwise, you may share information with me including your name, address, email address or phone number. I may also obtain information about you from other sources, i.e. Google Analytics.

When someone visits my website, I use Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information such as cookies, IP address and details of visitor behaviour patterns. This is to find out information such as the number of visitors to different parts of the site. This information is only processed anonymously. I do not make, and do not allow Google Analytics to make, any attempt to identify those visiting my website.

A cookie is a packet of data used to distinguish users from others when accessing a website.

No user-specific data is collected by myself or any third party. If you fill in a form on my website, that data will be temporarily stored on the web host before being sent to me.

Initial contact

When you contact me to enquire about my counselling services I will collect information to help me answer your enquiry. This includes your name and contact details. If you decide not to proceed, I will ensure this information is deleted within 30 days. If you would like me to delete this information sooner, please let me know.

 

Uses for information

 

I use legitimate interests as my lawful basis for holding and using your personal information in this way when you visit my website. If you are currently having counselling or in contact with me to consider counselling, I will process your personal data where it is necessary for our counselling contract and to fulfil requests of information made by you.
